Get that stuff hot enough and you are breathing fairly toxic smoke. I was using Grapeseed oil for my cooking for many years. Then I realized my diet was full of Omega-6 but very little Omega-3. I have since switched to Canola for my cooking / frying and then putting a tablespoon of Flax oil directly on my food every day. That gives me more than enough Omega-3 every day.8fung.ushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17482693190559343246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7918088210236724647.post-29523890114225529802010-11-17T15:49:46.582-08:002010-11-17T15:49:46.582-08:00I would say use Safflower oil over Canola. Tamari and Shoyu should both be pantry item. I rarely use ordinary soy sauce because Tamari and Shoyu both have so much more Umami than typical soy. Do a taste test. Dried shatake's make a great broth and are inexpensive if purchased from an asian store. Yeast Flakes have big time Umami as well as avocado. Lastly, tahini can add some Umami depth to a flat sauce.<br />--Chris Kaminski8fung.ushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17482693190559343246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7918088210236724647.post-7786750285635626172009-11-04T13:11:15.446-08:002009-11-04T13:11:15.446-08:00Mustard seeds, cumin seeds, pepper flakes and a li...Mustard seeds, cumin seeds, pepper flakes and a little tumeric (plus salt) is a take on an east indian dish I have been doing for years.
